The Way of The Ninja – King Cannibal

Label: Ninja Tune

If your own trumpet is lying around then why not blow it, that’s what I say? For Ninja Tune that trumpet time is now. Not content with releasing the mammoth, the marvellous and the mighty 4 CD Box Set ’20 Years of Beats and Pieces’ last month, the label that has the edgiest, elegant roster in Britain today serves up another celebration, this time re-visited, re-whittled, re-vised and re-served by King Cannibal, aka Dylan Richards. 74 minutes of all the things that defy logic, from Mr Scruff, Bonobo, Diplo, the Herbaliser, Kid Koala, Clouddead, Coldcut, the Cinematic Orchestra, Roots Manuva to DJ Food. You know that recent EMI release that mashed up all the Beatles classics? Well this is similar: stacks of tracks you’re likely to remember but not remember like this. They’ve been chopped up, spliced, diced and served up in the tastiest of soups. Like Moby, tell your Mum – but good.

It’s Ninja Tune, Jim, but not as we know it.

‘The Way of the Ninja’ is released November 8th
