Show You The World – Grouch, The

Label: Legendary Music

By all accounts the Los Angeles based ‘Living Legends’ member, The Grouch has been spending his time on the West Coast’s independent scene, pushing, amassing, springing, devoting, birthing and guesting all manner of sh*t in his twenty plus years with the underground supergroup. In fact, such has been his output (7 solo projects and 5 collaborative efforts, 10 ‘Legend’ full-lengths) one might forgive him the occasional lapse on this variously smooth and peaceful fifteen-track collection.

Raking leaves up, pulling out weeds – The Grouch is doing yardwork, but such is the slack and easy flow of his well-oiled vibes he sounds like he’s barely breaking a sweat.

Fruity, fly and oozing the confidence of a man completely at home with the hustle, the bustle, the toil and trouble as he is with the good things in life, ‘Show You The World’ aims a Bootsy style kick at the heart (‘God Bless The Elephant’) whilst turning over the occasional hot patty (‘Clones’). It’s not a master of its world but it has its place in it.

Guests include Rachael Saadiq,  Mike Marshall, Abstract Rule, MURS, Marty J and Bicasso and Scarub.
