Sounds Like Sex 2 – Paul And Price

Label: Red Cola

Now I do believe they’ve taken a wee bit of licence here. Whilst for most people what ‘Sounds Like Sex’ would mean the furtive grunts and groans, faintly amusing squelchy noises and leaky farts stirring from beneath the bedclothes before we switch on ‘Match Of The Day’, Paul and Price evidently have a romantic view of the whole ridiculous process; lush orchestration, soft focus electronica, sighing vocals, xylophones, flutes and some rumbling, fumbling bass grooves. Yes, its idealistic, yes it’s as far removed from most people’s experience of sex as ‘9 1/2 Weeks’ and the tempo couldn’t be anymore down than if you’d squeezed it into an elevator and hit the button for the basement. But as patently idealistic and retro as it first appears, it is seriously seductive nonetheless.

Featuring vocal’s from Telepopmusik’s Angela McCluskey on the pearly ‘I Adore You’ and Toddy Ivy on ‘Darling’ and the almost palpitating, ‘Little White Roses’, Paul and Price lead us on a well lubricated night journey through the sexier environs of lounge.

If this is what sex sounds like, then what did the first volume in this series have in mind?
